Just some quick thoughts before I head out for lunch...

- I promise to you, my many, many, many blog followers (ha!), that my posts will, once again, be written with love, care, and insight. I realize I have been the queen of slack lately...merely regurgitating other stuff I find on the web, throwing in my two cents here and there. A few days ago I was looking through some old posts from way back when I started this thing and they were actually thoughtful and maybe even [dare I say...] interesting. I shall, starting this weekend, begin writing real stuff again. Pinky promise.

-Also, while speed walking through freezing temperatures yesterday, I casually started creating a list of what I suppose you could call "New Year's Resolutions"...if you want to get all formal. Here's what I am thinking thus far:

*Be kinder to myself
*Continue to see people through eyes of empathy and compassion, but realize it's not my job to rescue everyone in distress
*don't feel guilty about not saving the world
*go to MOMA more often
*use my NYU ID til it expires in August...aka: hang out at the library. because I love libraries. and books. And writing stuff. And I like the smell of libraries...and the gentle undertones of weird yet soothing library noises. ::sigh::
*Open heart, always
*Stand up for myself when people are sucking
*See red flags and walk away from them...
*Cook more
*Read more (shut up. I can do it if I wanna. There's no such thing as too many books)
*Write real letters to real friends on real paper with real ink and real words
*Paint my apartment/decorate in coolness
*Go somewhere warm, sunny, delicious
*Write more. More, more more! Keep up with the poetry, but give short stories another shot.
*Make stuff. And finish the projects
*Make my sewing machine my new BFF
*Get back into sketching and playing with pods of black ink
*Finger paint with Chloe, ride bikes with Chloe, build forts with Chloe, play legos with Chloe...you know, do everything that matters...with...Chloe [I've mentioned her in other posts, if you recall. She's my incredibly adorable, sweet little niece.]
*Call friends from home more often
*Snow angels, piles of leaves, etc.
